Hasnah Abdul Hamid,
With more than 25 years of experience in corporate and advisory services and started her professional career in Singapore before returning to Malaysia in 1991, Hasnah Abdul Hamid had served with several Singapore-based international companies such as Agusta Aviation Pte Ltd, SDS Bank Singapore Branch (a Bank with headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark) and Ernst and Young before being offered employment opportunity with Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd, a company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Having spent almost 13 years at Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd and then Perwaja Steel Sdn Bhd, the national steel company that was privatised to Maju Group, Hasnah held various executive positions and, in the process acquired vast experiences that hone her entrepreneurship and management skills.
When she relinquished her last post in 2003 as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of Maju Group, Hasnah moved on to take up a position at Jobsandmore.com, an online job search company as the its General Manager.
Continuing her career after gaining experience in an online recruitment services company with Jobsandmore.com, she then accepted a job offer as General Manager at Kerjaya Sukses Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of a US-based international employment agency, Kelly Services.
Given the lack of a Bumiputera company of caliber that were able to offer job search services and, encouragement from clients who had dealings with her, Hasnah decided to resign from her post at Kerjaya Sukses Sdn Bhd to set up Agensi Pekerjaan HCR Sdn Bhd, offering recruitment and executive search services with another partner.
She takes this challenge given not many Bumiputera entrepreneurs dared to venture into this field that was dominated mostly by multi-national employment agencies.
Being a Bumiputera Entrepreneur who dared to venture into this field, in addition to her dedication in understanding the job seekers’ and employers’ perspectives, Agensi Pekerjaan HCR Sdn Bhd was incorporated to offer services to its clients that were unique in its own right.
Following Agensi Pekerjaan HCR’s Sdn Bhd’s success, Hasnah went on to set up HCR Consulting Services Sdn Bhd offering HR related services to compliment the Employment Agency business.
Both companies jointly carried the brand name of HCR Malaysia (www.hcrmalaysia.com) and continuously expanding its business among industry players in the recruitment and HR consulting business.
